Four motivations, all determine both for what and why I design.
The Barstow Type S touches on all of these. The piece was designed for both a lover and to honor a friend I loved. The name is in honor of a town where I had a home and my creativity was unleashed. The saddle (hand painted cushion) was custom designed for the piece by an Ecuadorian artist and reflects the people of South America.
A portion of the sale of this work will be used to support efforts to assist the poor in Columbia, Ecuador, the Marshall Islands and Mexico.
Finally, as in all things, my family in both blood and heart are the foundation on which all I create.
